Université PSL is launching a call for applications for a Junior Professor Chair titled « Bioimaging and Chemistry for Health ».
The activity will take place at the SEISAD, I-CleHS, PSL, Université Paris Sciences et Lettres.
This is a tenure track position with a reduced teaching load leading to a full professor position in between 3 and 6 years. The position will start semester 2 2025.

The position is open to all researchers wishing to develop their activity in Bioimaging and Chemistry for biomedical sciences. The position includes an internationally competitive salary and competitive start-up package.
Wholly committed to excellence in education, training and research, PSL is a global university, which aims to reflect, represent and influence society today and the world of the future in all its diversity. The ENSCP establishment aims to promote new, original teaching methods linked to ground-breaking research projects or in response to challenges in the field of chemistry, such as biomedicine.
In this PSL environment, the SEISAD Team develops projects aimed at elaborating processes and tools for the early detection of pathological signals using chemical and analytical methodologies. In particular, a focus is the development of methodological MRI and associated with multifunctional molecular or nanotheranostics formulations for biomedical applications.
The SEISAD/I-CLeHS is also very active in teaching at the Chimieparistech School and at PSL University. In this context, the I-CLeHS institute is involved in setting up a PSL master’s program (M1/M2) « Science and Technology for Health » and « Chemistry ». The recruited person will take responsibilities in the new masters’s program.
Mission
SEISAD, ICLEHS, PSL https://iclehs.fr/research/seisad/
The teaching project will be part of the graduate programs « Engineering » and « Chemistry » at PSL University, and, in particular, the new master’s program « Science and Technology for Health » and “Chemistry” opening in September 2025, teaching at ENSCP engineering School, covering chemistry, biotechnologies to precision medicine. The position will contribute to the organization and coordination of this track and will deliver part of the teachings.
The CPJ holder will have a reduced teaching load during the pre-tenure period which must be mainly devoted to research. (minimum of 64 hours of teaching time per year, then a teaching time as a full professor).
The scientific project will align to the strategy of the SEISAD/ICLEHS research project. SEISAD synthesis Electrochemistry Imaging and Analytical Systems for Diagnostics develops projects aimed at developing processes and tools for the early detection of pathological signals, using chemical and analytical methodologies. In particular, it will be dedicated to the development of methodology in MRI associated to the search, co development and evaluation of novel diagnostic and theranostic imaging agents, nanoparticles and biomaterials, in the field of Health. This includes the co-design and characterization to the evaluation of new imaging probes or formulations, with a view to biomedical applications in preclinical pathologies of interest (cancer, ischemia, inflammation). Methodology in MRI imaging combined with optical imaging is also proposed, involving acquisitions revealing specific contrasts, processing and analysis of multiparametric images, in the MRI facility to handle.
The recruited individual will develop innovative and ambitious methodological skills in MRI bioimaging associated with chemical formulations for theranostics, to address cutting-edge questions in medicine and/or biology. Therefore, we expect both a high level of technical expertise in both bioimaging and chemical formulations and a commitment to health application. The research project conducted as part of this position will complement the present projects inside the SEISAD team.
Requirements to apply
Candidates must have held a doctorate for at least three years and have a research record including publications in fields relevant to the job profile and in top-ranking journals. Significant international experience is desirable. PhD in biomedical engineering, Chemistry, Nanomedecine
Required Skills in Biomedical Engineering, Bioimaging, Chemistry, Physicochemistry.
